As a Compliance Lead for Business Banking, you'll be the main point of contact in providing 2nd line compliance advice across our growing Business Banking division, ensuring regulatory obligations are met and frameworks are enhanced to support sustainable compliance outcomes.

You'll join a dynamic team during a period of significant growth and help ING maintain its status as Australia's most trusted bank. This role is highly advisory in nature and offers the opportunity to help shape compliance culture and frameworks by offering guidance aligned with the Corporations Act and other relevant regulations.

It would suit a commercially minded compliance professional coming from a banking background that wants to build a trusted partner relationship with your stakeholders, helping them to launch new products and grow the business banking offering whilst keeping them compliant with regulatory guidelines.

What you'll do

  • Provide 2nd line advisory support on compliance matters across Business Banking products (e.g., business loans, transaction accounts, equipment finance)
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain compliance frameworks, with a strong understanding of regulatory obligations including the Corporations Act
  • Interpret regulatory changes and provide pragmatic, risk-based advice to business partners
  • Conduct thematic reviews and offer guidance on control effectiveness and compliance risk mitigation strategies
  • Support the implementation of compliance obligations across policies, procedures, and business processes
  • Collaborate with other Compliance Managers and support broader compliance activities and initiatives
  • Assist in driving a strong compliance culture through regular engagement and communication with stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving regulatory landscapes, emerging risks, and enforcement trends

What we're looking for

Minimum 8 years of compliance e

  • perience in the financial services industry, preferably in business banking or commercial banking.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian legal and regulatory frameworks including the Corporations Act, APRA, ASIC obligations, and industry codes relevant to business lending and banking.
  • Legal qualification is advantageous.
  • Highly developed analytical skills and ability to provide commercially pragmatic solutions.
    E- perience in interpreting obligations and embedding them within frameworks and operational processes.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and educate senior business stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, change-driven environment.
