Your new role:

As an Advanced Recreational Officer, you will design, deliver and evaluate recreational and diversional programs that support recovery and enhance the wellbeing of consumers in the Adult Acute Inpatient Unit at Redland Hospital.

Plan, implement and evaluate therapeutic recreational and diversional activity programs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Work with consumers, carers and staff to develop age-appropriate and culturally sensitive programs tailored to individual needs.

Ensure safe supervision of recreational activities while maintaining compliance with relevant systems, legislation and reporting requirements.

Liaise with community agencies, volunteers and service providers to enhance access to recreation and leisure resources.

About you:

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate professional who is committed to consumer-centred care and recovery-focused practice.

Holds an Advanced Certificate in Disability Studies or Certificate IV in Health and Community Services (Diversional Therapy) (or equivalent), with 12 months of practical post-graduate experience desirable.

Demonstrated ability to provide a wide range of therapeutic interventions and tailor programs to individual needs.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Well-developed time management, organisational and documentation skills to deliver safe, high-quality services.
