Civil Excavator / Multi-Skilled Operator

Location: Brisbane, QLD

Company: Ground Defence

Ground Defence is seeking an experienced Civil Excavator or Multi-Skilled Operator to join our Brisbane team. This position is offered on a casual basis with the potential to transition to full-time employment.

As part of our growing civil construction team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality commercial and infrastructure projects across the local region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate a variety of earthmoving machinery and plant equipment
  • Conduct daily pre-start inspections and basic maintenance on all equipment
  • Assist with civil works including bulk earthworks, filling and compaction, detailed trimming, stormwater and drainage installation
  • Identify and report equipment faults or maintenance requirements promptly
  • Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve project objectives and deadlines

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in civil construction or earthmoving operations
  • Proven competence operating a range of heavy machinery
  • Strong understanding of civil construction processes and site safety standards
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outcomes
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • HR driver's licence and White Card (Construction Induction) advantageous but not essential
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle with an unrestricted drivers license
  • This workplace maintains a strict drug-free policy random drug testing may be carried out
