Melbourne VIC, Australia Australian Unity Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

About us

Established in 1840, we are Australia's first wellbeing company, delivering health, wealth and care services for our members and the community.

As a social enterprise, we're motivated by our purpose to positively impact the wellbeing of millions. We reinvest profits to deliver products and services sustainably that matter most to our members, customers and the Australian community.

For us, Real Wellbeing encompasses the whole experience of life. It's about feeling supported in your health, connected with your community and empowered to live life on your terms.

Your New Role Looks Like This:

At Australian Unity, we're dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of our clients — helping them protect, manage, and grow their financial wellbeing with care and integrity. Within our Client Services team, our Client Relationship Managers (CRMs) play a key role in providing end-to-end service and support to our clients, including those who rely on us for financial administration and trustee services.

We currently have two exciting opportunities available — one permanent position and one 12-month fixed term contract — for motivated professionals who are passionate about making a meaningful impact through client care and financial stewardship.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll combine strong relationship management, financial oversight, and empathetic client service to ensure every client's unique needs are understood and supported.

What You'll Do:

As a Client Relationship Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of clients, ensuring they receive exceptional service at every stage of their journey — from onboarding through to ongoing management and review.

You will:

  • Lead the onboarding process, including file setup, client establishment meetings (in person or virtual), external asset collection and protection, and implementing financial advice where applicable.
  • Work closely with personal injury clientele, providing financial guidance, support and structure
  • Manage client portfolios day-to-day, ensuring budgets, assets, and records are accurate and well-maintained.
  • Develop and maintain client budgets and investment reviews, ensuring financial decisions align with client goals and Tribunal requirements.
  • Attend annual client meetings and State-based Tribunal hearings, either in person or online.
  • Travel as required to meet with clients face-to-face and to represent Australian Unity at business and client pitch meetings.
  • Document all client interactions clearly and thoroughly, supporting transparency and compliance.
  • Make informed financial and administrative decisions in line with internal frameworks and professional guidance.
  • Engage with clients and their support networks to ensure decisions reflect their needs, values, and best interests.
  • Ensure appropriate structures and protections are in place, including insurance, to safeguard client assets.
  • Collaborate with internal specialists and external advisers, ensuring Statements of Advice and recommendations are implemented effectively.
  • Contribute to a culture of care and continuous learning, supporting colleagues and seeking opportunities to build your financial and investment knowledge.

About You

You are an empathetic, organised, and detail-oriented professional who thrives on building meaningful client relationships. You bring:

  • Experience in client relationship or portfolio management, ideally within financial services, trustee, or fiduciary environments.
  • Experience working with personal injury clientele will be highly regarded.
  • Strong financial acumen, including comfort with budgets, reports, and investment concepts.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Guardianship and Administration Act 2019, Administration and Probate Act 1958, and the Privacy Act.
  • Capacity to acquire knowledge relating to the administration of trusts and financial administration legislation across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate sensitive or complex client situations with compassion and professionalism.
  • A commitment to continuous learning, collaboration, and delivering high-quality outcomes.

What's on Offer:

You will enjoy a range of great employee benefits and rewards including:

  • Competitive salary + bonus program
  • Enjoy additional yearly Well-Being and Community leave days
  • 14-week paid parental leave, with equal benefit for both parents
  • Employee Referral Program
  • Employee Assistance Program – support and assistance for you and your partner at those times in life when you need it most
