The Role
The Associate Principal – Student Services should provide strategic leadership in supporting the diverse needs of students, with a particular focus on those requiring additional support due to disability, learning difficulties, or social-emotional challenges. This role would lead a multidisciplinary team and coordinates case management processes to ensure students receive timely, targeted, and inclusive support linked with the school motto: With pride we learn, With pride we grow.
The successful applicant will ideally display a strong understanding of inclusive education, trauma-informed practices, and evidence-based intervention strategies. They should work collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies to build a school culture that values diversity, promotes wellbeing, and supports every student to thrive. A key component of the role would include oversight of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) process to ensure accurate and compliant reporting of student adjustments.
Some key responsibilities of the role may include:
- Coordinate Case Management for Students with Special Needs: Lead and manage case planning for students with disabilities, learning difficulties, and complex needs, including SAER (Students at Educational Risk).
- Develop and Monitor Individual Support Plans: Collaborate with staff and specialists to develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Support Plans, and other tailored interventions.
- Liaise with Families and External Agencies: Build strong partnerships with parents, caregivers, and external service providers to ensure coordinated support for students.
- Lead and Manage Student Services Team: including School Psychologists, Chaplain, and Allied Health Supports and other support agencies.
- Support Student Wellbeing Initiatives: Oversee programs and strategies that promote student engagement, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.

Eligibility

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
