Senior Lawyer – Civil & Commercial Litigation

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a highly experienced and capable Senior Lawyer to join our team and lead across a range of complex matters.
The Role:
This is a senior level position suited to an accomplished litigation lawyer with a strong background in civil and commercial law. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently managing a portfolio of matters, supervising a small legal team, and delivering high-quality legal services to a diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a range of complex civil and commercial litigation matters from initial instructions through to final resolution
- Draft pleadings, court documents, legal correspondence, and written advice to a high standard
- Conduct negotiations, mediations, and settlement conferences
- Appear in court (independently or with counsel) across various jurisdictions.
- Provide strategic legal and commercial advice to clients in a timely and effective manner
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior legal staff and paralegals
- Maintain compliance with applicable court rules and electronic filing procedures
- Develop and nurture strong client relationships and assist with business development initiatives
Candidate Requirements:
- Admitted as a solicitor in Australia with a current unrestricted practising certificate
- Minimum of 4 years post-admission experience (PAE) in general civil and commercial litigation
- Strong technical knowledge civil procedures.
- Experience in insurance litigation, particularly recoveries, motor claims, demurrage , or property damage, is highly regarded
- Proven ability to manage a legal team and supervise matters effectively
- Excellent drafting, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills
- Demonstrated commercial acumen with a client-centric mindset
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal practice management systems
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to professional excellence
