About the Opportunity
Campbelltown and Camden Hospital are actively seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join their team, characterised by a friendly and supportive environment. Your exceptional multitasking abilities and adept prioritisation skills will ensure smooth operations within the new pharmacy department. Proficiency in communication and adeptness with pharmacy computer systems will facilitate seamless collaboration with colleagues and external stakeholders.
In this role, the Pharmacy Technician will play a pivotal part in ensuring optimal medication supply to ward areas. Your responsibilities will encompass a spectrum of tasks, from sourcing and ordering pharmaceuticals to coordinating delivery logistics with accuracy and timeliness.
You will actively engage in quality improvement activities, striving to enhance processes for increased efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Through consistent inventory management practices, they will uphold the accessibility and accuracy of pharmaceutical stock, ensuring its usability within the pharmacy. Working closely with managers, pharmacists, technicians, and external customers, the Pharmacy Technician will contribute to a cohesive and dynamic team environment focused on delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services.
What You'll be Doing
Maintaining pharmacy inventory through ordering, receipting, stock rotation, and returns. Under supervision, you will contribute to inventory and financial reporting and support dispensary operations by preparing medications in line with regulations and policies. Your role will involve effective communication within the multidisciplinary team, participation in audits and quality improvement activities and perform other duties as directed by the Director of Pharmacy or delegate.

Camden Hospital complements these services by specialising in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care.

- Appropriate qualification as per the Health Employees' (State) Award for a Pharmacy Technician Grade 3 - (Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy support (HLT40507) or equivalent).
- Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated competency in dispensing, non-sterile production and distribution.
- Demonstrated competency in using pharmacy computer systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work both individually and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritise work flow
- Demonstrated experience in performing complex tasks in (eg inventory management for all sections of pharmacy including clinical trials, audits and Drug Utilisation Evaluations)
