Job Description

The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for end-to-end analysis working with Australian Commonwealth and GDLS-US on capturing future demand and performance analytics on spare parts.

General Responsibilities

  • Works upfront prior to the parts demand to GDLS-A to assure FMS and DCS parts analysis can be captured for future demand.
  • Leads analysis for spares forecasting and data gathering to support recommendations for optimal requirements and needs of the CoA with demand.
  • Supports CoA with spares analysis and modelling
  • Conducts investigations including cost/benefit analysis in collaboration with CoA working towards LTA's or supporting needs lead-time away.
  • Maintains parts list of vehicles to assure all requirements are captured
  • Works with Sourcing Specialist to capture future demand and suppliers in oracle and bid-list.
  • Works Reach-back with GDLS-US (CSO/Estimating/SCM), GDLS-C, etc on fall out and forecasting similar to IPS Spares contract. Assure demand is credible and set up ability to utilize GDLS-US stock or US Suppliers as required. (including ROP/Min-Max stocked items for hardware)
  • Assists with updates of plans, processes, procedures and instructions
  • Works in conjunction with Programs and CoA to assure requirements are understood, priced and demand planned for procurement team.
  • Perform analytics to capture RFQ and PO placement efficiencies. Other areas of data management and cost/benefit analysis may include costs of material (volume discounts), freight and lead-time improvements, cost of quality and accuracy of deliveries (to include domestic vs international).
  • Monitor SCM generic email inbox and distribute correspondence accordingly to SCM team members.
  • Generate weekly and monthly SCM reports and provide to the appropriate GDLS PM
  • Assist with the preparation of SCM monthly reviews and weekly KPI report.
  • Comply with all GDLS-A Policies and Procedures, Processes and Work Instructions.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong and accurate verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, preferably within the Defence industry.
  • High Level Degree, preferably in Business, Finance or Supply Chain Management. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to read or learn technical drawings.
  • Experience using Oracle or other ERP database, preferred
  • Ability to research and reach back to other GDLS Business Units and Commonwealth to obtain rationale for procurement demand.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Ability to prepare and present analysis/presentations to GDLS Leadership and Commonwealth rationalizing direction of procurement demand
  • Multi-tasker
  • Demonstrated use of initiative.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with an ability to think outside of square.
  • Ability to prioritize to workload and adapt to changing priorities.
