ABOUT THE ROLE
RPS has an exciting opportunity for self-motivated, experienced candidates to join our MetOcean division in Perth (Wangara), Western Australia.
RPS Perth MetOcean team focuses on providing commercial Oceanography and Floating Lidar Buoy measurements to support offshore industry.
Your position will assist in maintaining and preparing RPS owned metocean instrumentation and mooring hardware for variety of projects within Australia and overseas.
The role will have you working out of our Wangara office in Perth, but the support for metocean operations means occasional field work would see you working away from home.
RPS supports flexibility in the workplace and is open to both full and part time applications from all levels of experience. Graduates always welcome to apply
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field work in Australia and internationally to maintain RPS Metocean systems from vessels or offshore platforms.
- Assist in assembly, testing, installation and maintenance of oceanographic monitoring systems, moorings and instruments.
- Assist with production of project documentation and drawings such as HSE, Project Execution, methods, procedures, mooring designs.
- Assist in data processing, analysis and reporting.
ABOUT YOU
The role will suit someone who wants to work productively, whilst maintaining a work life balance. The ideal candidate will possess a range of practical, mechanical and boating related experience, as well as good organisational ability and computer skills to be a part of a dynamic and diverse team. You will also have:
- Qualifications in Science, Oceanography are advantageous.
- Hands on experience with a variety of tools.
- Good Mechanical aptitude.
- Boating experience. Comfortable being at sea.
- The ability to travel and work away from home when required (duration of field work trips from 3 days to 3 weeks)
- Must be able to obtain Marine Safety Identification Card
- Must hold a valid driver's license
