About the role As an Industry Advisor for State and Federal Government, you will play a pivotal role in driving digital transformation and innovation across the Government, Transport and Utilities sectors. Your mission is to engage with executive-level stakeholders to co-create strategies that unlock new revenue streams, optimise operations, and deliver hyper-personalised experiences through cutting-edge technologies. You will bring deep domain expertise in the Government, Transport and Utilities Industries, with a strong understanding of industry-specific applications for AI and digital in the Government ecosystem. Your insights will help shape transformation strategies that align with broader business goals and industry trends.
Responsibilities
- Lead account planning as the industry expert, engaging closely with customers and partners.
- Provide clear perspectives on global industry trends and how they apply locally.
- Build and manage relationships with key decision makers to drive strategic alignment.
- Develop multi-year roadmaps aligned to customer business and technology goals.
- Coordinate stakeholders to maintain momentum and ensure execution of joint plans.
- Identify opportunities that address priority customer needs.
- Promote repeatable use cases and proven scenarios to drive scale.
- Shape new solution concepts with product teams when capability gaps exist.
- Lead strategic discussions with senior executives to define business outcomes.
- Create compelling value cases that support investment decisions and adoption of Microsoft solutions.
- Influence stakeholders through consultative engagement and credible industry expertise.
- Coordinate with strategy, delivery, and partner teams to develop and land opportunities.
- Strengthen partner relationships to expand solution availability and market reach.
- Share sales strategies and best practices to enable scalable customer success.
- Maintain current knowledge through required certifications and continuous learning.
- Share insights on industry trends, regulatory changes, and customer needs.
- Provide informed recommendations that guide planning, execution, and solution development across teams.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of customer-facing experience in the Government, Transport or Utilities sectors, supported by a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Alternatively, 8+ years of customer facing experience in the Government, Transport or Utilities sectors, supported by a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
