Join Our Referral & Intake Team – Enrolled Nurse Intake Officer
Are you an organised, people-focused Enrolled Nurse who loves making a real difference in your community? We've got an exciting opportunity to join our Referral and Intake Centre (RIC) Team on a permanent part-time basis.
Based at our Adamstown Campus (Corner Kyle and Gosford Roads, Newcastle), you'll be part of a dynamic, supportive team working alongside Planned Care for Better Health, ICCAPP, and Out of Hospital Care programs - all under the guidance of a Nurse Manager who's got your back.
About the Role
As a RIC Intake Officer, you'll be the first point of contact for community-based referrals, helping connect people with the care and services they need most. Your day will involve processing referrals and requests via phone, email, RIMS, and the My Aged Care (MAC) portal. You'll also provide accurate information and direct callers to the right service, while maintaining strong relationships with service providers to ensure clients receive the right care at the right time. It's a busy role where no two days are the same, and your ability to juggle tasks while staying calm will be highly valued.
Some of the key things you'll do include:
- Processing and managing referrals from multiple sources
- Liaising with providers and colleagues across the health network
- Supporting patients and their families by ensuring a smooth referral journey
About You
You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are confident using technology, and have the communication skills to deal with a wide range of people. With your current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse (Medication Endorsed, where applicable), you'll bring strong clinical reasoning, time management, and documentation skills.
Ideally, you'll also have experience in call-centre or referral-based roles, but just as important is your easy-going nature, adaptability, and genuine commitment to person-centred care.
What We Offer
We'll make sure you feel supported from day one, with a comprehensive orientation program and access to ongoing clinical and technical support. You'll be working in a collaborative, values-driven workplace where your contribution truly matters, and you'll have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the health journeys of people in your local community.
If you're adaptable, compassionate, and ready for a role where you'll connect people to the care they need most - we'd love to hear from you.
