About the role
Higgins Diesel Services is seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Charlton, QLD. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of modern trucks, trailers & dolly's, along with those of our customers. This is a full-time role, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.
What you'll be doing
- Diagnose and repair issues with Various Diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other components
- Perform scheduled maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups
- Inspect and test vehicles to identify potential problems
- Maintain detailed records of all work completed
- Collaborate with the wider team to ensure efficient and effective workshop operations
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures
What we're looking for
- Formal qualifications in Automotive Diesel Mechanics / Light vehicle or a related field
- Extensive experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a commercial transport fleet or similar
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to accurately identify and resolve complex issues
- Proficiency in the use of a range of tools and equipment common to the automotive industry
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
