At Jetstar, we are seeking a Customer Analytics Engineer to join our Loyalty Data Squad within the Customer domain. You will focus on designing and delivering data models, analytics-ready datasets, and business metrics that power insights, reporting, and decision-making for Jetstar's Club Jetstar loyalty program.
In this role, you will act as the spokesperson of the central Data and Analytics team, leveraging the modern data platform (Snowflake, dbt, Alation) while partnering closely with Customer and Club Jetstar business teams, Data Business Analysts, and SMEs to enable impactful customer analytics.
To be successful in this role, you will transform raw data into reliable, well-tested models that power reporting, insights, and activation use cases. You'll be part of a large, established analytics engineering community but be dedicated to the loyalty domain, with support from a business analyst and data modeller.
The core responsibilities of this role will be:
- Design, build, test, and maintain data models and SQL transformations in dbt to enable analytics for Club Jetstar teams in Customer domain.
- Extend enterprise data models by creating domain-specific dimensions, measures, and KPIs aligned with Customer and Club Jetstar business needs.
- Collaborate with Data BAs, Customer SMEs, and centralized data modelling team to translate business rules into curated data assets.
- Ensure models are well-documented in Alation and adhere to best practices in coding, testing, and version control (GitHub).
- Work closely with centralized Data Engineering and Data Modelling teams to ensure alignment with enterprise frameworks, governance, and standards.
- Provide trusted data outputs to enable BI dashboards, analytics, and reporting for Customer and Club Jetstar teams.
- Enable downstream use cases in BI, reporting, and activation (e.g. Hightouch, Braze, Salesforce).
- Partner with stakeholders across Customer, Technology, Cyber, Data Privacy and Ethics to ensure dependencies and requirements are well understood.
To be considered, key skills will include:
- 2-5 years of experience in analytics engineering, BI development, or data modelling roles.
- Strong proficiency in SQL (queries, stored procedures, performance optimization).
- Experience with dbt for data transformation and data pipeline management.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake (or other modern cloud data platforms).
- Familiarity with data modelling concepts (fact-dimension, star schema, medallion architecture).
- Understanding of business metrics and KPI creation for analytics and BI.
- Experience working with data catalogues (e.g., Alation) and GitHub for version control.
- Experience with data activation tools (e.g., Hightouch) and marketing platforms (e.g., Braze, Salesforce).
- Exposure to loyalty, marketing, or customer data domains.
- Exposure to data governance, RBAC, or data security concepts.
- Familiarity with downstream BI tools e.g. Power BI.
- Knowledge of orchestration and monitoring best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills – able to work with both technical and business stakeholders.
