As an Administration Support Officer in Finance and Admin, you'll have the opportunity to engage in diverse administrative tasks across various disciplines based on your qualifications, experience, skills, and willingness to learn new responsibilities. In this role, you will support our Finance and Admin team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of prisoner monies and pays. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, values a supportive workplace and wants to make a difference.
Your Skills & ExperienceAs an Administration Support Officer, you'll have the opportunity to engage in diverse administrative tasks based on your qualifications, experience, skills, and willingness to learn new responsibilities.
To meet the key selection criteria for this role this role, you will possess the following:
Demonstrated understanding of account principles, and payroll functions.
Proven spreadsheet and keyboard skills.
Ability to understand and apply skills with accounting software package, including applying policies and procedures under a database.
Ability to meet deadlines and impart knowledge of systems, procedures, and policies to colleagues.
As an Administration Officer you will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Process Prisoner pays and maintain ITAS database.
- Prepare, balance, and record receipts through an electronic cash book to the bank statement and ledger for the Prisoner Monies Account.
- Oversee all matters relating to Prisoner Monies Account and receipt of monies.
- Oversee all matters relating to the correct recording of Prisoner Monies in relation to prisoner telephone calls and the verification of same against End of Day Audit Reports.
- Manage Prisoner Monies for transfer to other Centres, discharge, and prisoner requests.
- Prepare monthly statements to prisoners.
- Prepare and record payments through ITAS and cash book, as well balancing and reimbursing weekly float.
- Handle all telephone inquiries from Unit Managers, prisoner's relatives and other Centres in relation to Prisoner Monies Account matters.
- Manage all tasks in a timely manner ensuring internal and external deadlines are met.
- Provide relief in all required administrative tasks, including daily filing and archiving of files.
