Frontend Developer for NovoPsych Psychometrics

NovoPsych is on a mission to change mental healthcare. We use psychometrics and AI to help clinicians improve patient outcomes.

We envision a future where every psychologist leverages AI systems that eliminate administrative burdens and elevate the quality and accessibility of care for patients worldwide. Today, NovoPsych provides a suite of innovative tools to modernise psychological assessment and documentation. Tomorrow, we'll empower every healthcare organisation with AI assistants designed to tackle the tedious aspects of clinical and non-clinical work, enabling clinicians to focus on what matters most—patient care.

Our team is a dynamic mix of seasoned leaders and forward-thinking innovators, driven by a shared passion for excellence. We achieve in six months what takes others years, fuelled by a culture of rapid execution and continuous improvement. Operating since 2012, we retain a start-up feel with a team of 15, but we have plans to double in size over the next six months. Over half of our current staff hold PhDs, but don't let that turn you off

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Frontend Developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences through modern web technologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop responsive, interactive web applications that prioritize user experience and performance

- Collaborate with backend developers to integrate RESTful APIs and ensure smooth data flow

- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using modern JavaScript/TypeScript

- Implement and maintain frontend applications using React and related technologies

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation

- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability 

Required Technical Skills

- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3

- Extensive experience with and its core principles

- Advanced knowledge of frontend build tools and workflows (Webpack, npm/yarn)

- Expertise in implementing responsive design using Tailwind CSS

- Proven experience integrating and consuming RESTful APIs

- Strong understanding of Git version control and collaborative development workflows

- Experience with automated testing and debugging tools

Additional Technical Competencies

- Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions

- Knowledge of frontend security best practices

- Experience with state management solutions (Redux, Context API)

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines

- Interest in learning everything there is to know about AI

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of frontend development experience

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)

- Portfolio demonstrating interactive web applications
