Mechanical Draftsperson

About the Role

We are looking for a mechanical draftsperson , preferably with fabrication trade experience to join our team. This role involves producing detailed SolidWorks drawings, conducting some FEA testing, and working closely with the production team to ensure designs are practical and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Create accurate 2D and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks for trailer designs and components.
• Conduct FEA testing to ensure structural integrity and compliance.
• Develop BOMs, cutting lists, and other technical documentation.
• Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
• Identify and implement design improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Assist in product development and modifications based on customer and production needs.

What We're Looking For

• Advanced experience in mechanical drafting with SolidWorks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce precise, high-quality work.
• Practical understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Ability to problem-solve and ensure designs are both functional and efficient
• Trade experience in fabrication, welding, fitting and turning, or mechanical work will be highly regarded.
• Experience with FEA testing preferred.
