**What's the role?**

Reporting to the Head of Automation in QA, you will be responsible for assisting the implementation of the QA Automation Strategy across several domains within TDD's (Technology, Digital & Data) for NewsCorp Australia. You will be a part of a growing, centralised Automation Practice team, expanding the automation footprint to a high level of maturity across several platform teams.

The role is hands-on, converting existing manual regression and progression tests into automation assets. The role will require liaising with functional testers, platform managers and potentially, senior management as required. This role would suit a Senior Automation Engineer who is looking to advance into a Lead role.

**Responsibilities**

Developing, executing progression & regression test cases and reporting outcomes

Gathering reporting metrics for the Automation Manager

Drive an Automation 1st Policy within the team

Applying best practices, working with the broader team to deliver on roadmap milestones

Set up Production automation and automated reporting to stakeholders

Recommend improvements such as open source tooling and resource requirements to provide cost benefits

**Who are you?**

You have at least 2 years of experience as an Automation Engineer, with strong working knowledge of automation processes and tools like GitHub, GitHub Actions, Playwright, Selenium (Python/TypeScript), and Appium.

You've automated regression and progression tests across digital platforms, including web and mobile apps, and have experience in environments like Salesforce.

You're a proactive team player with excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills, contributing confidently to meetings and workshops.

You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic settings, demonstrating high attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and meeting deadlines.

You're driven by innovation, continuous improvement, and take pride in delivering measurable outcomes like increasing automation coverage and reducing the cost of quality.

While mentoring experience is a bonus, your willingness to support your team and adapt as priorities evolve is essential.
