Musical Instrument Teachers

Living Music is seeking experienced, professional and fun music teachers to teach on a part-time ongoing contract basis at our Southland Shopping Centre store as well as our established Greensborough, Knox, Watergardens and Eastland stores.
We are seeking applicants for the following instruments:
- Violin
- Guitar/ Bass Guitar/ Ukulele
- Piano & Keyboard
- Singing/Voice
- Drums
Living Music are locally owned stores located around Melbourne and specialising in musical instrument sales, hire, repairs and servicing. We run a successful music tuition program with 400+ students. Living Music has a longstanding reputation within the community for friendly, thorough service and expertise.
The successful applicants' duties will include teaching one-on-one lessons, group lessons, lesson preparation, liaising with parents on student progress, setting goals and objectives with students and assigning homework, as well as assisting with annual School Concerts.
All administration (ie booking students, timetables and payment) is organised by Living Music staff on your behalf.
Required attributes:
- Applicants must have completed a Bachelor degree or equivalent diploma in music. Applicants with previous teaching experience will be highly considered. Experience teaching VCE, AMEB and ANZCA exam syllabus also favoured.
- Must be able to read both notation & tab (Guitar, Bass, Drums)
- Friendly, down-to-earth and professional at all times.
- Confident interacting with students and parents of all ages and abilities.
- Reliable, organised and punctual.
- Tidy, professional presentation.
Required licenses & certification:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent diploma in music.
- Valid Working with Children Check.
- ABN (Australian Business Number) an advantage.
- Valid Public Liability/Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Availability requirements:
Between 1 to 5 days a week during school terms, generally 3.30pm to 8pm. Applicants with consistent, ongoing availability and experience preferred.
Teaching hours allocated are subject to student enrolment and teacher availability.
