CNC Machinist - Full time

Location – Caringbah NSW

About the Role

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the person will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of a Okuma LB3000 lathe and Okuma MB4000H, as well as supporting equipment including pre-setter, CMM and loading/unloading robot. This is a new machining setup allowing the candidate to help shape the machining operations of the company.

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Setting of tools and fixtures for machining jobs
  • Loading and unloading of automated robots and pallet pool
  • First off inspections with CMM
  • Providing feedback to engineering team on manufacturability of new designs
  • Working with the quality team to address non-conformances
  • Maintenance of machinery and coordinating with external technicians

About You

  • 5+ years experience on CNC lathes and horizontal machining centres (experience with Okuma machines is advantageous)
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines
  • Experience with hand measuring tools and inspection equipment
  • Self-Motivated with a willingness to listen and learn
  • Ready to maintain accountability for assigned jobs
  • Possess a flexible, cooperative team attitude & a strong work ethic
  • Willingness & ability to work as part of a team
  • Keen attention to detail
