The role

Coach adults of all experience levels, from nervous first-timers to advanced swimmers refining technique. You'll deliver boutique, tailored sessions that prioritise safety, confidence and measurable improvement. We value experience and expertise that produce excellent teaching outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Coach adults of all levels with tailored, goal-aligned sessions that build confidence and skill
  • Use Momence on your own smartphone to check in swimmers, record notes and manage rosters
  • Tailor technical feedback and session plans to individual needs to accelerate progress
  • Enforce water safety and venue rules, with sound injury-prevention and management practices across a wide adult demographic
  • Contribute to our social presence by capturing simple, consented photos/videos and sharing short updates within brand guidelines

Qualifications (one or more of the following)

  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Adults
  • AUSTSWIM Towards Competitive Strokes or AUSTSWIM Teacher of Competitive Strokes (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
  • ASCTA Coaching Accreditation (Development or higher) or Swim Australia equivalent

Must haves

  • Current First Aid (HLTAID011 or equivalent)
  • Current CPR (HLTAID009 or equivalent)
  • Full Australian working rights (citizen, permanent resident or current valid work visa)
  • Confident user of Momence (or similar CRM) for check-ins and progress notes
  • Working With Children Check (company policy)
  • National Police Check (company policy)
  • Current Australian driver's licence or other national ID

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting culturally diverse and/or anxious adult learners
  • Second language
  • Basic social-media or phone-photography skills for quick session updates

Preferred

  • 5 years' relevant coaching or teaching experience
  • Sydney-based for early starts and flexible shifts
  • Own car preferred

Availability

  • Early mornings (approx. 5:30–9:30 am)
  • Afternoons/evenings (approx. 4:00–8:00 pm)
  • Weekends as rostered

Pay and roster

Paid under the Fitness Industry Award (MA000094), with casual rates commensurate with qualifications and experience. Typical shifts include evenings and weekends at Prince Alfred Park Pool (Surry Hills) and Victoria Park Pool (Camperdown). Rosters are managed in Momence.
