Adelaide, South Australia Chamonix IT Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

About Chamonix
Welcome to Chamonix IT Solutions, where innovation meets passion. We're an end-to-end technical services provider committed to helping businesses excel in the digital era. Established in 2010 and recently acquired by Synechron, a global consulting firm delivering industry-leading digital solutions, we're poised for significant growth Our local, dedicated team of 150 professionals specialises in guiding our clients through transformative journeys - from groundbreaking digital transformations to comprehensive technical delivery and ongoing managed support.

Our dynamic team is the cornerstone of our success, driven by a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. At Chamonix, we are not merely keeping pace with the market; we are leading it, delivering exceptional outcomes that empower our clients to stay ahead of the curve. Join us and be part of a journey where the future is shaped daily.

The Role
Are you the kind of Architect who thrives on pushing boundaries? Our client is embarking on a bold journey to modernise their enterprise environment, moving towards cutting-edge PaaS, SaaS, and Azure-based solutions - and they're looking for an Infrastructure Architect who shares that pioneering mindset.

This isn't just about upgrading servers. It's about reimagining an enterprise architecture landscape and setting the standard for how critical applications can thrive in a modern, secure, and scalable environment.

You'll Be Leading The Charge In

  • Researching and assessing applications, vendors, and system constraints.
  • Designing future-proof infrastructure aligned with ISM compliance and security frameworks.
  • Providing clear architectural principles, roadmaps, and artefacts that chart the path forward.
  • Weighing the opportunity costs of going ultra-modern vs. retaining stability.
  • Partnering with stakeholders, challenging vendors, and proactively influencing decision-making.

This is a role for someone who can think outside the box, make bold recommendations, and justify their approach with experience, insight, and strategic clarity. You won't just design and walk away. You'll deliver end-to-end - owning the architecture, engaging directly with vendors, and setting the vision for a truly future-ready environment. You'll have the autonomy to explore what's possible and the sponsorship to push the envelope as far as you can justify.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience architecting modernisation programs (enterprise environments, state government, defence, or large-scale industry ideal).
  • Strong knowledge of Azure services (VMs, SQL, Fabric, networking concepts) and how to apply them in regulated industries.
  • Ability to balance innovation with compliance, especially under ISM and highly regulated frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Background in COTS, legacy systems, and integration projects.
  • Azure certifications and a degree in a related field (preferred).
