Job Details

Scrum Masters support delivery teams by improving performance through Agile practices. This role involves facilitating agile ceremonies, managing sprint cycles, resolving delivery impediments, and ensuring alignment across Agile Delivery Teams within the Funding and Disclosure Reform Program. The program supports legislative changes to enhance transparency in the Commonwealth Funding and Disclosure Scheme.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead Agile ceremonies using SAFe methodology including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, review and retrospectives

  • Report sprint and program deliverables to leadership using dashboards

  • Manage product backlog prioritisation and alignment

  • Maintain team transparency and visibility of progress and challenges

  • Identify and resolve delivery impediments and risks

  • Coordinate dependencies and ensure alignment across teams

  • Coach staff in Agile and SAFe principles

  • Build relationships with business, vendors, and other agencies

Selection Criteria

Max 5000 characters total in one-page pitch (individual responses not required)

Essential Criteria

  1. A strong understanding of the SAFe methodology and its application within a large and complex Program, preferably within a government context.

  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and negotiate with a range of audiences.

  3. Excellent stakeholder engagement and teamwork skills, with the ability to work with colleagues to achieve outcomes.

  4. Experience effectively managing competing priorities and strategic directions, with an ability to remain calm under pressure and respond flexibly to change and uncertainty.

  5. Proven ability to act with discretion and integrity in managing sensitive information.

  6. Proficiency in using various IT applications and project management tools, including the MS Suite, Azure DevOps, and Miro or similar.

Desirable Criteria

  1. Tertiary qualifications or industry recognised certification in Management, Project Management, or a similar field.

  2. Demonstrated work experience managing/delivering large-scale ICT transformation programs/projects in an Australian Government setting.

  3. Industry recognised certification or demonstrated work experience in Agile ways of working, such as the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and/or SCRUM.

  4. Evidenced experience and qualifications as a Scrum Master.
