The opportunity

Are you ready to make your mark as part of our Commercial Litigation Practice in our Sydney office?

Our Commercial Litigation Practice specialises in representing clients in high-stakes business disputes across a wide range of industries. We provide expert legal services in areas such as contract disputes, class actions, business torts, shareholder and partnership disputes, antitrust litigation and intellectual property litigation. Our team handles all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation counselling and strategic planning to trial and appellate proceedings. By leveraging our deep legal expertise, global reach and strategic insights, we help clients navigate complex legal challenges, protect their business interests, and achieve favourable outcomes through both court proceedings and alternative dispute resolution methods.

As an Associate, you will have good judgment, excellent analytical skills and broad subject matter experience across construction, regulatory issues (especially ACCC, ASIC and AER), private international law, public international law, corporate and other commercial issues. Highly organised and self-motivated, you'll be a team player with a strong professional presence and client focus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop claims and disputes strategy for clients involved in major projects and oversee counsel and experts to implement strategy.
  • Draft motions, trial briefs, examination outlines and other documents for domestic and international matters.
  • Guide clients through regulatory investigations.
  • Coordinate experts and Counsel engagements.
  • Mange junior associates on matters (if senior associate level)
The skills and attributes we are looking for
  • 3-8 years of litigation/law firm experience
  • Australian qualified (or willing to re-qualify in Australia)
  • Team player, who adopts a 'firm/team first' mindset
  • Good understanding of the key risks and issues involved in multi-party construction and
  • Strong academic record and intellectual curiosity
  • Take ownership and accountability for tasks
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Self-starter and takes ownership of career development
