RDA Central and Western Queensland is seeking a comitted leader to join our committee as Deputy Chair
Regional Development Australia Central and Western Queensland (RDACWQ) is a collaboration between the Australian and local governments aimed at supporting the growth and development of Australia's regions.
As Deputy Chair, you will support and stand in for the Chair when required, helping to lead strategic initiatives that drive economic growth, innovation, and inclusive development across the region. This is a vital leadership role, offering the opportunity to work with government, industry, First Nations communities, and stakeholders to shape the region's future.
Role Description
This is a volunteer hybrid role for a Deputy Chair will assist in the leadership and management of RDACWQ's initiatives, collaborate with committee members and regional stakeholders, and contribute to developing and implementing strategic plans. Key responsibilities include;
- Support the Chair in governance, strategic leadership, and stakeholder engagement.
- Represent regional interests across a variety of forums and initiatives.
- Help oversee the implementation of RDA's funding agreement outcomes.
- Champion diversity and inclusion within the committee and the broader community.
Selection Criteria
- Governance and leadership experience—ideally at a board or committee level.
- Delivery focus - A successful track record delivering outcomes in complex environments.
- Stakeholder engagement - ability to engage diverse stakeholders and manage partnerships.
- Representational skills and a strong regional, industry or business profile.
- Deep commitment to the Central and Western Queensland region.
- Commitment to diversity -You must have a passion for diversity, inclusion, and working respectfully with First Nations peoples.
