Development of automation projects of varying sizes and associated switchboard wiring has resulted in significant growth in all areas of the business. This now opens up an exciting position for a hands-on qualified Mechanical Fitter/Machinist/Toolmaker wishing to join our dedicated team in progressing with the Company through exciting times.

Job tasks and responsibilities

The position will support both the machine assembly and the online extrusion shop.

That is:

  • Assembly of machine components, frames and conveyors.
  • Machining metal and plastic components for our leading-edge machinery within specified tolerances.
  • Custom builds and manufacturing of custom parts.
  • Equipment maintenance and servicing.
  • Cutting of extrusions for both in house machine-building and third-party orders.
  • Stock control and housekeeping of areas used.
  • Reviewing your processes to ensure optimal efficiency.
  • General support for the business.

Skills and experience

Must have Requirements

  • Australian trade recognised certificate within the metal, instrument or electrical industries
  • Be confident in operating manual lathes, mills and hand tools.
  • Good hand skills for the assembly of machines and equipment.
  • Have pride in their workmanship
  • Be able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Have a strong mechanical aptitude to understand verbal instructions.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • Must have Australian working rights or visa
  • Must be a team player
