Program Assistant - Seeking Community Mentors JD Hardie Youth and Children Services

Level 1 - $31.14-$41.51 per hour incl. casual loading + 12% Superannuation

The Role

Do you have experience working with mentoring and developing young people and or providing services to families and children?

The Town of Port Hedland is looking for Casual Youth Program Assistants and Casual Children's Program Assistants to support and mentor young people within the JD Hardie youth development and children services at the centre and other public spaces and other Town facilities.

With opportunities within both children's services and youth services, this role will see you supporting young people with skill development across a range of activities and interests that support their overall wellbeing and community belonging. You will assist with the day to day running of the JD Hardie Youth and Community Hub as well as collaborating and supporting stakeholder initiatives.

Work Related Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

• National Police Clearance
• Rights to work in Australia
• Working with Children Card (or willing to obtain)

Essential Experience

• Previous experience working with children and/or young people
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literacy with experience using Microsoft Office products
• Ability to work in a team
