Your new company

This state government department is responsible for delivering strategic digital and communication initiatives that enhance engagement and strengthen the department's reputation. You'll join a collaborative Marketing and Communications team that delivers high-quality, accessible and engaging digital content across multiple platforms.

Your new role

As the Digital Specialist, you will lead the redevelopment and management of the organisation's website and intranet, ensuring platforms are modern, accessible and user-focused. You'll coordinate internal stakeholders, technical suppliers and creative partners to deliver an enhanced digital experience that supports communication and service delivery objectives.

This role combines project leadership and hands-on digital management, overseeing content, analytics, SEO, accessibility and CRM integration while driving continuous improvement across all digital channels.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, digital media, journalism or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience leading website redevelopment or digital transformation projects in a complex environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, timelines and technical suppliers
  • Strong understanding of UX, accessibility (WCAG 2.1) and SEO best practice
  • Hands-on experience using CMS platforms (Squiz Matrix desirable) and working knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Experience using analytics tools (GA4) to assess and improve digital performance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on accessible and engaging content creation
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A proactive and collaborative approach with a focus on delivering quality outcomes
