St Mary's Anglican Girls' School is an independent day and boarding school for over 1500 girls from Kindergarten to Year 12 and provides girls with opportunities to pursue personal and academic excellence in a respectful and supportive environment.
The school is located close to the ocean in the northern suburb of Karrinyup and, during term time, is home to over 180 boarders.
Due to the retirement of our esteemed Executive team member, Mrs Louise Tyson, a unique opportunity has arisen for an aspirational leader to drive strategy and make an impact within the Teaching and Learning disciplines of our School. The Dean of Teaching and Learning is a member of our dynamic School Executive team and reports directly to the Principal, with a reporting line also to the Deputy Principal (Studies).
As Dean of Teaching and Learning, the successful applicant will be energetic and innovative, working closely with fellow School Executives, and providing oversight of:
- Developing and improving pedagogy
- Teacher appraisal and development including professional learning
- Innovation
- Strategic Planning and Management
Essential qualifications and experience for this role include (but are not limited to):
- Demonstrated ability to integrate emerging technologies into teaching and learning, working collaboratively with digital innovation leaders to enhance pedagogy and support the School's educational objectives.
- Understanding of current theory and research relating to teaching and learning.
- Strong demonstrated knowledge of legislation, compliance, policies and procedures relevant to this position.
- Relevant tertiary degree and teaching qualifications – Masters in Educational Leadership or equivalent is highly desired.
The Dean of Teaching and Learning will also undertake a teaching load equivalent of 0.2FTE in their area of expertise.
This is a five-year tenure position.
