We are a small but established engineering consultancy with a reputation for delivering technically demanding projects across Australia. As part of our intended growth, we are now launching a dedicated cybersecurity division and seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Manager / Lead to establish and drive this new capability.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a business function from day one — building the service offering, shaping delivery standards, and developing a team with the full backing of senior management. Initially, the focus will be on helping small and medium-sized organisations strengthen their cybersecurity posture while building a strong foundation for future expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement cybersecurity frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead client engagements and oversee technical project delivery.
  • Build internal capability through mentoring, training, and recruitment.
  • Support business development and represent the cybersecurity division in proposals and discussions.

This role will suit a capable professional looking to step into a leadership position, shape a growing practice, and make a direct impact within a supportive, engineering-led consultancy environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in cybersecurity consulting, engineering, or management.
  • Strong technical understanding across core cybersecurity domains.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to lead projects and build a small, high-performing team.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of cybersecurity experience required.
  • Multiple cybersecurity certifications required.
  • Australian permanent residency or citizenship required.
