Overview:

We are looking for a proactive Procurement Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will manage logistics solutions for our clients — coordinating carrier services, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring shipments are handled efficiently from origin to destination. The ideal candidate brings a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution to streamline operations and keep customers satisfied.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics Coordination

·      Coordinate domestic and international movements with transport companies, shipping lines, and air carriers.

·      Keep stakeholders updated on shipment status to ensure timelines, cost targets and service standards are met.

Procurement & Vendor Management

·      Negotiate pricing and service terms with suppliers and service providers, running RFQs/RFPs where needed.

·      Build strong supplier relationships, review performance and recommend awards based on value, reliability and compliance.

Strategy & Policy

·      Identify practical ways to improve processes, lift efficiency and reduce cost across day-to-day procurement and forwarding activities.

·      Contribute to purchasing and distribution procedures that support timely delivery and consistent service.

Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

·      Track key indicators such as on-time performance, supplier reliability and landed cost; highlight trends and risks.

·      Use data insights to recommend and implement sensible improvements with internal teams.

Inventory & Storage Coordination

·      Coordinate with third-party warehouses for short-term storage as required, balancing cost and service.

·      Maintain accurate records so stock movements (where relevant) align with client requirements.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

·      Liaise with customers and internal teams to understand needs and provide clear, timely updates and solutions.

Requirements

Education & Experience

·      Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field; OR equivalent experience (3+ years) in freight forwarding or logistics procurement.

·      Proven track record (2+ years) coordinating domestic and international freight.

Technical & Analytical Skills

·      Comfortable with freight systems (e.g., CargoWise) and/or ERP for analysis.

·      Strong analytical skills.

Soft Skills

·      Clear communicator and confident negotiator with suppliers, carriers and clients.

·      Organised, detail-oriented and able to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Attributes

·      Working knowledge of customs requirements and international trade compliance.

·      Process-minded with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.
