About the Role

As our Switchboard Operative, you'll provide a professional, customer-oriented telephony service, ensuring every caller feels valued from the moment they connect. You'll also represent Aon in the local and regional business community.

What You'll Do

  • Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously.
  • Listen carefully to callers' requests and route them correctly the first time.
  • Keep staff extensions and department information up to date, so you can provide efficient service.
  • Maintain confidentiality of colleagues' contact details.
  • Stay calm and use initiative to manage changing priorities.
  • Communicate clearly and diplomatically with a diverse range of people.
  • Escalate technical issues through the right channels.
  • Support health, safety, and security procedures, and report any suspected phishing cases.
  • Keep your work area tidy and provide management information as needed.
  • Support the facilities management team with admin tasks when required.

  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Previous customer service experience.
