What you'll be doing

As a Perioperative Nurse (Casual), you'll play an essential role in delivering exceptional patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

• Provide high-quality, safe, and person-centred perioperative nursing care
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and allied health staff
• Support, mentor and supervise students and junior staff within the clinical setting
• Respond to changing patient needs and delegate appropriately within scope of practice
• Advocate for patients and their families while ensuring effective use of resources

Essential Criteria:

• Registration: Current Nursing Registration (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery

Selection Criteria:

• Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA
• Current perioperative experience in Anaesthetics and/or Recovery speciality areas.
• Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
• Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care
• Demonstrated effective communication skills- written and verbal
• Effective interpersonal skills showing initiative and leadership to junior members of the team
• Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues
