Suburban Connect is a consortium of global leaders in tunnelling including CPB Contractors, Ghella and Acciona Construction delivering the Tunnels South package on Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East, on behalf of Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA).

We have a broad range of roles available to build our diverse and inclusive workforce, including construction and engineering, planning and environmental management, corporate support, administration, communications and many others.

SRL East from Cheltenham to Box Hill is now under construction, with tunnelling to start in 2026 and trains to be running by 2035.

Suburban Connect is constructing the 16kms of tunnels between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley using 4 tunnel boring machines and a range of excavation methods. The works also include 55 cross passages, 2 tunnel portal structures, 2 station box excavations and associated supports.

Main Responsibilities Of The Role
Manage and oversee the Red Line Mark-up (RLM) and As-Built process for all WPC design packages related to the Permanent Works and all Temporary Handover Works packages required to follow the As-Built process. This includes:

  • Ownership of the Master Drawing Register and As-Built Management Plan.
  • Tracking and monitoring the status of drawings through the design process.
  • To facilitate and run internal meetings with Digital Engineering, Drafters & Document Control to discuss RLMs & As-Builts.
  • To facilitate and run interface Meetings with SRLA & Returned Asset Owners to discuss As-Built progress and resolve comments raised.
  • Responsible for reporting on RLM & As-Built progress to Completion Manager, SRLA and the Returned Asset Owners.

Manage the Asset Allocation and Asset Transfer process for all Assets built or modified as part of the WPC scope, to the respective Receiving Entities (RE). This includes:

  • The ownership and development of the Asset Allocation and Transfer Register and submission of all handover documentation, to enable the RE's to effectively own and/or maintain the Assets.
  • Being the main interface between the SC Digital Engineering, GIS, Construction, SRLA Completions and the individual Receiving Entities to ensure:
  • Early identification of Assets and the RE's that will own and/or maintain them.
  • Facilitate engagement and agreement of the Asset Transfer process with the RE's; and
  • Facilitate the Transfer of the Assets to the RE's.

What We're Looking For

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction or Asset Management
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an Asset Management role, preferably within a Construction or Rail Transport Operator environment.
  • Ability to develop, use and maintain administrative systems (Asset Management).
  • Advanced knowledge in the use and operation of DoT DMS, and PASS Assets is highly desirable.
  • Experience and knowledge of Rail Industry and Tunnelling is highly desirable.
