Healthcare Security Officer

To provide a security service for staff, patients, visitors, premises and property at Childrens Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CHQHHS) sites, including the Queensland Childrens hospital precinct, the Emergency Department, Mental Health wards, and community sites. Provide a person-centred approach to supporting staff, patients and security duties. Undertakes patrols and respond to suspicious activity or irregularities, requests for assistance and duress activations. Investigates incidents and security breaches. Complies with any site-specific security operational directives.
About The Role
- Responding to calls for assistance and communicating effectively in emergency situations with colleagues and department stakeholders.
- Taking reasonable care for your own health, safety and wellbeing, and ensuring your actions do not adversely affect the health, safety and wellbeing of others.
- Undertaking patrols of designated areas to ensure a safe and secure environment for all people utilising services, including lock/unlock activities, welfare checks, and staff escorts as required.
- Conducting inspections to verify secure perimeters and controlled areas, checking for breaches, and performing lighting and hazard reduction inspections.
