About the Role
Working under supervision, you will support research, surveys and monitoring for client projects. The Graduate Zoologist contributes to field surveys, data collection, species identification and report preparation. This role works to build professional skills in zoological research and environmental impact assessment.
What You'll Do
- Assist in conducting ecological field surveys and impact assessments across varying environments
- Collect, record and analyse biological data on animal species, populations and habitats
- Contribute to maintaining and updating species databases
- Assist in laboratory work such as sample processing, specimen identification and data entry
- Ensure all work complies with ethical research standards and safety procedures
- Participate in professional development and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
About You
- A Bachelor's degree in Zoology, Conservation Biology, Environmental Science or relevant experience
- Class C, open license (essential) and experience with 4WD (preferable)
- Basic Knowledge of Western Australian fauna and ecosystems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a field team
- Willingness to undertake field work in remote or variable conditions
- Awareness of statistical software or environmental data analysis techniques
