Research Nurse Level 2

  • Opportunity for an experienced Research Nurse/Coordinator to join the Neuroscience Research Team at Monash Health

  • Part Time (0.6 EFT), Fixed Position ending 30 June 2026, with potential to extend contract

  • Responsible for coordinating global commercial studies and international investigator trials in: Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Movement Disorders, Neurodegenerative Diseases and Epilepsy

Our Journey

Monash Health Neurosciences Research actively leads and participates in collaborative multicentre clinical trials and observational studies. The unit coordinates research in:

  • Stroke and Ageing

  • Epilepsy

  • Movement Disorders

  • Multiple Sclerosis

  • Neurodegenerative disease

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our neuroscience research team. This is a (Part Time, with potential to extend contract), working 48 hours per fortnight, based at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton.

A Day in the Life

As a Research Nurse (Level 2), you will conduct clinical and academic research projects under the direction and mentorship of the Manager/Supervisor. You will have responsibility for the delivery of direct and indirect research participant management and associated data collection. Under supervision, you will be responsible for:

  • conducting clinical studies and audits

  • managing randomised trials

  • direct and indirect clinical trial related care within scope of practice

  • input into ethics applications

  • input into conference abstracts / presentations

You will liaise with the manager/supervisor, their delegate(s), and relevant Monash Health personnel, to ensure appropriate participant recruitment, data collection and database management in clinical research studies and research audits as required.

You will also work with, direct and liaise with multiple local and international sites, sponsors and stakeholders and alongside with enthusiastic and experienced research team and global research leaders in neurosciences.

About You

An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive group of research nurses in neurosciences research.

You will have demonstrable experience in working collaboratively with key agencies, within the scope of relevant legislation and professional guidelines and are an excellent communicator, able to work independently and contribute to a resilient team. In addition to this, you will also have:

  • Attention to detail skill and be able to rigorously adhere to relevant documentation standards

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with external research organisations, sites and stakeholders

  • Experience in ethics and governance submissions

  • Demonstrate ability to work independently as well as consulting and collaborating with others to deliver outcomes

  • Be outcome focused with ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously

What you need:

  • Registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA

  • Minimum of two years nursing/midwifery experience

  • Recent experience demonstrating appropriate competencies and skills

  • Current and satisfactory pre or ongoing employment screening, including but not limited to National Police

  • Check and employee Working with Children Check (WWC)

  • Member of a relevant health professional research group or other Nursing/Midwifery professional association
