A leading insurer is undertaking a major transformation of its
insurance platforms, modernising how broker data is interpreted, decisioned and responded to across underwriting systems.

We are seeking a
Senior Business Analyst with strong insurance domain expertise
to play a pivotal role in designing and shaping a business rules engine that will centralise complex underwriting logic and significantly improve the broker experience.

The Opportunity

This role sits within a modernisation program replacing multiple legacy platforms. A suite of APIs has already been established, and the focus is now on capturing, rationalising and structuring underwriting logic that currently exists across systems, spreadsheets and manual decisioning.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the analysis, definition and documentation of underwriting business rules for SME insurance products
  • Partner closely with underwriters, product teams and technology delivery squads to extract complex business logic
  • Help design a
    centralised business rules engine to interpret broker-submitted data and return clear, contextual outcomes
  • Translate underwriting decisioning into API-driven rules and workflows
  • Improve the overall broker experience
  • Act as a senior bridge between business and technology in a highly data- and logic-driven environment

What You'll Bring

Essential

  • Strong insurance industry background, ideally within underwriting or product (not claims-led)
  • Proven understanding of underwriting language
  • Extensive experience as a Senior Business Analyst on complex transformation programs
  • Confidence working directly with underwriters and translating their intent into structured logic
  • Experience working with
    APIs, integrations and modern digital platforms
  • Highly analytical mindset with a focus on decisioning, data and customer outcomes

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with business rules engines or decision management platforms
  • SME or commercial insurance exposure
  • Experience modernising or replacing legacy insurance systems
