Darcy's Bar & Grill (Restaurant) is located at one of Halls Gap's premier accommodation establishments -the Country Plaza Halls Gap. With seating arrangements up to 70 people, the Restaurant is open Monday to Saturday nights from 6 pm onwards, and bookings are encouraged. The restaurant does close on Public Holidays, but open for large groups.

Position: Chef/Cook (Full-time, Evening Shift)

Salary: $70000-$80000 Yearly

About the Role

As a Chef, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our kitchen. You will assist in menu planning, food preparation, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and presentation. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with creativity, leadership, and a love for producing great food.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing a range of modern meals for guests of the venue, including main meals, dinner and snacks to a high standard
• Preparing and cooking meals following the dietary requirements and preferences of the guests
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, following food safety standards
• Collaborating with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Providing friendly and respectful service to the guests
• Ensuring menus, food standards, procedures and processes are followed
• Supervising and managing kitchen operations as required
• Maintaining standards for food storage, rotation, quality and appearance
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen area is in line with current health regulation standards

Our Requirements

Ø  At least 3-4 years of relevant work experience required for this role

Ø  Strong food preparation and presentation skills with a passion for delivering quality dishes.

Ø  Attention to detail and a proactive approach to improving systems.

Ø  Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working under pressure.

Ø  High level of personal presentation and hygiene.

Ø  Excellent communication skills.
