About the Role

We are currently seeking experienced Retail Security Officers to join our team and support our clients. We have positions available on a Casual Part time & Full time basis.

The primary responsibility of the Retail Security Officer is to detect and investigate instances of shoplifting and fraud within retail establishments. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to work on a rotating roster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Detect and apprehend offenders involved in theft or fraud
  • Collaborate closely with clients and local police
  • Provide ongoing support to client team members and other security services
  • Act as a visible deterrent to theft and report any missing assets
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations
  • Identify risks and provide feedback on mitigation strategies
  • Work confidently both independently and as part of a team
  • Produce accurate, timely reports of incidents and activities

Skills and Experience

  • Valid Security License
  • First Aid Certificate (highly desirable)
  • Proven experience in Loss Prevention and/or the retail sector
  • Excellent situational awareness and observation skills
  • Strong ability to identify patterns and behaviors indicative of theft
  • Professional grooming and self-presentation
  • Positive and proactive attitude towards daily tasks
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
  • Availability for evening and weekend shifts
  • Strong written communication skills, particularly in incident report writing
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail
