About the role

Are you a passionate Early Learning Educator looking to work in a supportive community based not for profit service?  Edge Hill Early Learning offers quality care in a small (36 place per day), homelike environment.

Edge Hill Early Learning is seeking a Casual team member to join our early learning centre in Cairns, QLD. Must be available between the operating hours of 7:30am to 5:30pm. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care and education to the children in our centre. Our service proactively upholds the highest standards of child safety and care.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting in the daily care and supervision of children, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times
  • Engaging children in age-appropriate learning experiences and activities that support their development
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation as required
  • Communicating effectively with parents/guardians to build strong relationships
  • Adhering to all childcare policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Participating in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge

What we're looking for

  • A relevant childcare qualification (e.g. Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care)
  • Experience working in an early learning environment, particularly with children aged 0-5 years
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and families
  • A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing the best possible care
  • A current Working with Children Check, First Aid & CPR certificate, and Child Protection training (preferably National Crime check).
