About the Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Engineer (DevOps and Hybrid Compute) to support the design, deployment, and ongoing operations of hybrid IT infrastructure that seamlessly integrates on-premises systems with public cloud environments.
In this role, you will participate in an on-call rotation and work closely with senior engineers, cloud architects, and IT operations teams to help ensure performance, security, and operational efficiency across a range of platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for an infrastructure or cloud engineer with a strong technical foundation in virtualization, cloud services, and automation to grow within a forward thinking and innovative organization enriching health across NSW in millions of ways every day.
In this role, you will:
- Assist with implementing and maintaining hybrid infrastructure across on-premises and public cloud platforms.
- Manage virtual machines, storage, networking, and server onboarding within virtualization and cloud environments.
- Support infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting tools
- Apply DevOps and Agile practices to enhance deployment processes and operational efficiency
- Provide Tier 2/3 support and participate in on-call rotations, maintaining thorough documentation
This role is internally referred to as Engineer - DevOps
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience in similar role/s across systems, infrastructure, or cloud engineering, with hands-on experience in VMware, Hyper-V, and Cloud Platforms (Azure and AWS).
- Proficiency in infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting with PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Solid understanding of DevOps and Agile methodologies, with working knowledge of container technologies like Docker/Kubernetes (preferred)
- Experience with patch management, application deployment (SCCM), and antivirus platforms (Microsoft Defender for Endpoint)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, with experience using ServiceNow and ITIL-based process.
