
Full-Time Drainer

Ross Services Pty Ltd Trading as RS pipe and Civil is seeking an experienced and qualified Drainer to join our growing team in Melbourne. We are a professional and reliable company delivering high-quality services across residential, commercial, and civil drainage projects.
About the Role
As a Drainer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing drainage systems to Australian standards. This includes stormwater, sewerage, and subsoil drainage systems across a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities
· Excavate and prepare trenches for installation of stormwater, sewer, and subsoil drainage systems.
· Install, connect, and repair stormwater pipes, sewer lines, inspection points, and pits for civil infrastructure and housing developments.
· Lay, align, and grade pipes in accordance with engineering drawings and Australian Standards.
· Carry out installation of residential drainage systems including downpipes, soak wells, septic tanks, and house connection points.
· Assist in the construction and maintenance of civil drainage networks including subdivision works, roads, and public infrastructure.
· Operate and maintain excavation and trenching machinery, pipe lasers, and other specialist drainage equipment.
· Inspect and test completed drainage systems to ensure proper flow, gradient, and compliance with building and plumbing codes.
· Perform repairs and replacements on damaged or blocked drainage lines in residential and civil settings.
· Backfill and compact trenches following installation, ensuring site safety and compliance with engineering requirements.
· Read, interpret, and follow site plans, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.
· Work collaboratively with site supervisors, engineers, builders, and other trades to ensure projects are delivered on time.
· Comply with workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements on all sites.
Skills & Experience
- Recognised trade qualification certificate III or above as a Drainer (ANZSCO or
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the occupation
- Proven experience in drainage installation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, OHS requirements, and building codes.
- Ability to read and work from technical plans and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) required.
- Driver's licence and reliable transport preferred.
