RETAIL CONSULTANT/ SENIOR RETAIL CONSULTANT

AGC has been in operation for over 20 years and is a well-established national retail Gold Dealer, with a reputation of customer service and product knowledge. AGC is hiring a full time or casual retail consultant and a full time senior retail consultant for their Melbourne CBD store.

THE POSITION

An exciting position as either a retail consultant or a senior retail consultant is waiting for the successful candidate to join our boutique office with full training provided. The position will be based at our Melbourne CBD store, however, travel to our Box Hill store may also be required at times. Having a valid driver's licence and access to car will be a benefit.

Both positions will include; serving customers, walk-ins and over the phone, the buying and selling of precious metals, guiding the customers through their experience by being confident to build rapport and develop their trust. Being proactive, having strong Math skills; including being able to conduct manual calculations and accurately using a calculator as necessary. Being confident to learn new computer systems along with having intermediate skills in using excel. This is a fast paced environment, where you will often be on your feet. Manual lifting of items varying in size and weight will also be required from time to time.

A Senior retail consultant will be required to fill the above description, along with having a minimum of 2-3 years experience in the retail/ customer service industry. Along with having strong initiative skills, being autonomous, reliable and punctual will also assist you in this role. You will also need to be proactive and confident to manage any queries or complaints from customers. Strong conflict resolution skills will be an advantage.

Gold Bullion or Pawnbroking experience is beneficial but not necessary as training in understanding and working with precious metals will be provided.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS TO HAVE:


•⁠ ⁠Accurate Numeracy and Mathematics skills.


•⁠ ⁠Touch typing and basic computer skills including being familiar with using excel and outlook.


•⁠ ⁠Retail sales and customer Service skills.


•⁠ ⁠Proactiveness and forward thinking.

Salary will be based on experience.

A police clearance is essential to obtain a position within the company. Must be over 18 years old.

The store operates 9:30am - 5:30pm Monday – Friday, there will be occasions where a shift on Saturday will also be required.
