- Planning, preparing, and cooking fresh food,
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen
- Creating new dishes and planning menus
- Ordering food supplies
- Monitoring quality control of food (from preparation to service)
- Ensuring that dishes meet high standards at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Hiring and training junior chefs.
- Ensuring hygiene and regulatory compliance such as OH&S
