Stem Cell Coordinator

Location: Icon Cancer Centre Wesley

About the Role

As the Stem Cell Transplant Coordinator, you will be instrumental in coordinating and streamlining the patient and donor experience across all phases of stem cell mobilisation, collection, and transplantation. This role offers the opportunity to provide advanced clinical support and leadership within our day hospital team, while delivering exceptional, personalised care to patients and their families.

The Stem Cell Transplant Coordinator role is based at Icon Wesley but is responsible for the coordination and care of patients across both Icon Wesley and Icon South Brisbane centres.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a skilled and compassionate nurse who understands the complexities of stem cell transplant care and is ready to take on a leadership role in a dynamic clinical environment.

Qualifications

Mandatory:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Previous experience in stem cell transplantation and coordination

Desired:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or currently working towards it

Skills & Experience:

Advanced Clinical Expertise

Demonstrated proficiency in managing patients with haematological malignancies across both inpatient and outpatient settings, with specific experience in coordinating stem cell transplant processes.

Autonomous and Collaborative Practice

Proven ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.

Project and Workflow Coordination

Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage complex clinical workflows, coordinate transplant timelines, and deliver high-quality outcomes within required timeframes.

Exceptional Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, particularly in complex care situations.

Team Culture and Values Alignment

Commitment to fostering a supportive and positive team environment that reflects Icon's values of care, innovation, and excellence.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management

Skilled in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clinicians, allied health professionals, and external health services, to ensure coordinated and patient-centred care.

Attention to detail and a strong focus on clinical governance, safety, and continuous quality improvement in transplant coordination.

Commitment to Professional Development
