About the Role

Join the Premier's Department and The Cabinet Office cyber security team to support and strengthen the Department's operational cyber security capability.

As the Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will perform security administration tasks, including managing user and system accounts, conducting privileged access reviews, and maintaining compliance with security policies. You will monitor and respond to cyber security events and incidents, coordinate threat hunting, vulnerability management, and remediation activities, and provide expert advice to reduce cyber risks.

In this role, you will collaborate with portfolio representatives and internal teams to enhance cyber security practices, contribute to reporting and compliance activities, and ensure adherence to relevant policies and frameworks.

Working within the Digital and Information Branch of the Corporate Services Group, you will help maintain the security and resilience of critical government systems and support the Department in responding effectively to emerging cyber threats.

We're Looking For

  • Cyber Security Operations: Strong experience investigating, managing and responding to cyber security incidents and events

  • Threat & Vulnerability Management: Proven experience coordinating threat hunting, vulnerability assessments and remediation activities across enterprise environments

  • Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience using security tools such as EDR, SIEM, vulnerability management platforms and the Microsoft 365 Security suite

  • Risk & Compliance: Sound understanding of cyber security policies, standards and regulatory requirements, with experience supporting compliance and assurance activities

  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical capability with experience assessing cyber risks and providing practical, evidence-based recommendations

  • Communication & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, actionable advice and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
