About the team
The Stores and Nursery team is a group of 15 people dedicated to managing the City's central warehouse and nursery. As Stores and Nursery Supervisor, you will lead this team to deliver logistics and nursery services efficiently for the City. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will collaborate with procurement, contract management, and WH&S colleagues, engaging regularly with other departments and suppliers. The team's goals include process improvement, enhanced use of SAP-based inventory systems, and managing operational supply chain risks. Current key projects involve implementing daily KPI tracking of workflow, streamlining procurement, and developing operational best practices for a safe, high-performing environment.
About your new role
This position leads the Stores and Nursery team, overseeing operational management of these functions for the City.
Responsible for the Ashmore Stores warehouse and Coombabah Nursery, the role focuses on delivering these services efficiently while driving innovation and ongoing improvements in logistics systems and processes.
Reporting to the General Manager, this position manages procurement, contract compliance, and SAP-based inventory systems. Additionally, it is responsible for identifying supply chain risks, maintaining WH&S standards, and cultivating a safe, high-performing workplace culture.
We're looking for people who have:
- Bachelor's degree in Transport and Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Horticulture, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in warehousing, inventory management, and/or nursery operations within a medium to large organisation.
- 5 years' experience supervising staff in an operational environment.
- Formal qualifications or demonstrated equivalent experience/knowledge of SAP or similar ERP platform.
- Familiarity with contract administration and procurement processes.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement.
