About This Position:

Join Lismore City Council as an Accountant and play a key role in maintaining financial integrity across banking, trust accounts, developer contributions, and financial reporting. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to work collaboratively within the Financial Accounting team, contribute to continuous improvement, and support Council's commitment to excellence in service delivery.

What We Trust You To Deliver:

  • Accurate reconciliation of bank accounts, trust accounts, loans, and sub-ledgers.
  • Timely administration of purchase cards, loan data, and developer contributions.
  • High-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reliable input into financial reports, statutory statements, and operational plans.
  • Support for financial literacy across Council through mentoring and collaboration.
  • Innovative solutions that enhance financial processes and systems.
  • Clear, professional communication and documentation aligned with Council standards.

What You Will Need To Be Successful:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting and 2–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills in high-pressure environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service and collaborative teamwork.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and preferably in Authority and Content Manager.
  • High level of integrity, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving capability.

Desirable:

  • Undertaking of additional study towards Professional Qualification

Full position description:

Working Hours: Full Time - 70 hours per fortnight

Salary: From $1,421.20 to $1,634.38 per week + superannuation, with consideration for higher remuneration based on exceptional skills and experience.
