About the Role

Provide leadership for the governance, risk and compliance function for the organisation. Review, maintain and enhance risk and compliance policies, methodologies, frameworks and procedures to achieve desired risk, compliance and governance outcomes in accordance with legislation, industry practices, and the organisations stated risk appetite, values and ethics. Support the senior leadership team in ensuring the organisation is managed to the standards set out in the Guardian Business Framework.

Risk & Compliance Policy and Frameworks

  • CCL Secure Governance standards are set out within the Guardian Business Framework (GBF). The GBF is organised to ensure: 
    a)
     compliance with critical external standards, including customer / contractual requirements (as defined by the business), and
    b)
    clarification of key requirements, process and procedures that support the business objectives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant risk and compliance standards, legislation, and statutory requirements and critically assess their applicability to the GBF.
  • Ensure strategies are developed and implemented in recognition of stakeholder expectations so that the Company is seen to be a high integrity organisation.
  • Review existing Guardian Business Framework and develop new policy frameworks to continuously improve and manage all risk and compliance matters for the Company.
  • Own the Governance, Risk and OHS&E standards within the GBF.
  • Establish policies and processes regarding the engagement (due diligence) of key staff and intermediaries that may be proposed by the business.
  • Act as Secretary for the Governance & Risk oversight meeting (GROM) Committee.
  • Ensure BCP plans are in place for each site.
  • Contribute to the performance of the APAC Plant Management Team.

Risk & Compliance Culture

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Company's internal risk function to identify and escalate risks, proposed mitigation strategies and monitor and review remediation initiatives. Ensure risk and compliance initiatives and actions are aligned to the Company's risk appetite, values and overall strategic objectives. Responsible for compliance in APAC.
  • Conduct audits and regularly report to all internal and external stakeholders on key risk and compliance metrics and resultant actions as a key member of the three regional auditing teams.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Ensure all sites operate in accordance with all, local legislative requirements, local standards as well as global standards, metrics, policies and methodologies.
  • Drive Governance of the continuous improvement initiatives in the OHSE functions of our business.
  • Coordinate global strategy of improvements in environmental and sustainability initiatives to help our business achieve carbon neutrality.

Internal Audit & Control

  • Manage the audit 'universe' that reflects key inherent risk in the business developed by the regional auditors in APAC, EMEA and LATAM.
  • Undertake internal audit reviews, follow up reviews and reporting to the Management Team.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of a global standard for anti-bribery and anti-trust. Work with the regional risk managers to ensure policies and procedures are complied with.

Regional Risk, Security & Compliance APAC:

  • Responsible for risk and security in the APAC region including the regional risk register. Management of product security, physical site security, personnel security, logistics security, asset control and information classification security protocols with the regional reporting into the role.
  • Implement and review procedures to identify areas of continuous improvement for the management of security risks in the APAC region.
  • Maintain comprehensive security records and manage all customer and statutory security reporting requirements.

Security

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive physical, information and personnel Security policy.
  • Develop a process for monitoring, reviewing and continuous improvement of Security arrangements across the business.

Market & Clients

Ensure that a rigorous procedural and compliance cultural framework is maintained to manage commercial behaviour particularly concerning dealings with foreign officials and intermediaries.

Reporting

Provide information for APAC and work with the EMEA and LATAM risk and compliance managers to collate and prepare quarterly GROM reports to the Managing Director covering all 3 regions.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications
  • Post-graduate qualifications, such as CA, CPA, highly regarded.
  • Experience working within a highly regulated manufacturing industry with a global outlook preferable
