Victoria By The Park is a small aged care facility overlooking the beautiful Hopetoun Gardens in Elsternwick, Melbourne, easily accessible by the public transport system. We provide permanent and respite (short-term) care in fully furnished private single and couple suites.

We are looking for a skilled maintenance officer to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and ensure the delivery of safe, inclusive and quality services to our residents. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems, ensure facilities are tidy and functional as well as the implementation of our Preventative Maintenance program.

Main responsibilities and requirements

  • To be self-motivated and have a strong work ethic.
  • To ensure maintenance work is completed with minimal impact on service delivery with cost effective contractors, internal staff and consultants and comply with the Aged Care Quality Standards and Workplace Health & Safety Requirements.
  • Perform minor repair general maintenance and painting touch ups
  • Good handyman skills
  • Competent knowledge of Work Health and Safety requirements
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Current Driver's License
  • To ensure the facility grounds are maintained including trimming, replacing and maintaining facility maintenance equipment
  • To complete documentation required as evidence of maintenance attended to including the timely completion of tasks
  • Experience working in an aged care setting (or similar)
  • The ability to use computers
  • Complete the tasks required in the internal preventative maintenance program, maintained electronically
